A federal jury has ruled in favor of a Department of Revenue investigator in the case against Todd Chrisley, the imprisoned reality star. The jury determined that Chrisley is now liable for hundreds of thousands of dollars for slander to the agent.
DOR investigator Amy Doherty-Heinze stated in the complaint that Chrisley initiated a social media campaign against the GDOR and specific employees, alleging that the investigation was both illegal and motivated by improper intentions.
According to court documents, Chrisley launched an aggressive attack on Doherty-Heinze, accusing her of numerous crimes and wrongdoings.
A federal jury announced on Thursday that Chrisley is accountable for both libel and slander. As a result, Doherty-Heinze was awarded compensatory damages amounting to $350,000, along with punitive damages of $170,000. The total damages, including attorney’s fees, sum up to approximately $755,000, according to Doherty-Heinze’s attorney.
