The police have identified a woman who tragically jumped to her death from a bridge in the Hudson Valley.
On Monday, April 1, Dawn Stackhouse, a 52-year-old resident of Beekman in Dutchess County, bravely jumped from the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge in Rhinebeck.
Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police has concluded in an investigation that Stackhouse made the decision to jump from the bridge at approximately 9:50 a.m.
A group of kind-hearted individuals who were fishing near the bridge came to her rescue, pulling her out of the water and trying their best to save her life, as confirmed by Hicks. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, she was declared dead upon arrival.
The investigation is still ongoing.
