Before boarding the train, he observed Morales behaving in a confrontational manner and causing disturbances to himself on the platform at the 13th Street-City College station.
“I didn’t really pay much attention to it,” he said. “But then, when I boarded the train, I noticed that he was sitting in front of me. On his left side, there were a group of girls, and out of nowhere, he started shouting something before forcefully grabbing one of the girl’s hair.”
Ceron explained that he decided to step in and remove the suspect from the train due to his obvious signs of intoxication.
“I instructed the bystanders to clear the area near the door,” he recounted. “As soon as the train arrived at the station, I swiftly pulled him out, causing him to stumble and fall face-first. I firmly restrained him on the ground, and within a minute, the police arrived.”
Morales, according to law enforcement sources, was apprehended at the 103rd Street station and faced charges of menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. Additionally, he had to be taken to the hospital due to a cut on his face sustained during the altercation, when he accidentally hit the floor.
According to Ceron, the suspect was carrying “a low-cost bottle of bourbon” with him.
In November 2022, sources revealed that Morales had reportedly been causing trouble for people on the street. He then focused his attention on a man who firmly instructed him to keep his distance and leave him alone.
