Chubbuck is currently experiencing a widespread power outage, affecting many areas of the city, including the traffic lights on some of its busiest roads.
Around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, a two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Yellowstone Avenue and Chubbuck Road. The accident seems to have been caused by the absence of functioning traffic lights, which went out just before the incident took place.
The Pocatello Fire Department paramedics are currently providing on-site medical treatment to the individuals involved in the accident. It is uncertain whether their injuries are severe enough to require transportation to the hospital. Both the car and the pickup truck, which was towing a trailer, were involved in the crash.
Several ambulances from the Pocatello Fire Department, along with police and fire units from Chubbuck, swiftly responded to the accident.
Motorists should steer clear of the Yellowstone Avenue-Chubbuck Road intersection as it is presently experiencing partial blockage due to a crash.
Idaho Power has reported that more than 1,000 of its customers in Chubbuck are currently experiencing a power outage. According to Idaho Power, the outage was caused by “line interference.”
Idaho Power is working diligently to ensure that everyone has their electricity restored by 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
