An actor who appeared on popular TV shows like NCIS, The Rookie, and Devil’s Night has been indicted on misdemeanor charges. The charges are related to his entry into the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, through a broken window.
Nolan Freeman, a resident of Nevada, stands accused of entering the Capitol during the peak of the riot at around 2:23 p.m. After a mere 28 minutes, he departed the premises. While the indictment did not specify his exact actions within the building, it did mention his attire, consisting of a red hoodie, a black jacket, and a red hat.
According to Politico, the indictment against Freeman includes seven photos that allegedly depict him inside and around the Capitol during the riot, accompanied by supporters of Donald Trump. These images were sourced from security footage and a YouTube video that claimed to offer viewers an “EXTREMELY close up view” of the events.
Freeman is currently facing charges that are common among individuals arrested in relation to the riot. These charges include obstruction of an official proceeding and unlawfully entering or remaining in a government building. Additionally, he has been accused of using language that is loud, threatening, or abusive, with the intention of disrupting the orderly conduct of a session of Congress.
The FBI was alerted to Freeman’s alleged presence at the Capitol on December 2, 2022, when someone reported him to its Reno, Nevada, field office.
According to prosecutors, Freeman’s involvement in the riot is supported by several pieces of evidence. These include photographs of him at the scene and phone records that indicate his cell phone was inside the Capitol on that fateful afternoon.
According to the prosecutors, flight records revealed that Freeman took a round trip from Sacramento, California, to Washington on American Airlines between Jan. 4 and Jan. 8, 2021.
According to prosecutors, the FBI reached out to Freeman on June 27, 2023, to arrange an interview. During the conversation, Freeman reportedly acknowledged his phone number. However, when questioned about his whereabouts on January 6, 2021, he requested to consult with a lawyer.
In 2019, Freeman made his last screen appearance in the hit TV show “NCIS,” portraying the character Willie in the opening episode of its 17th season. However, his acting career began in 2010 with a notable role in the short film “Face to Face.”
