Donald Trump seems to have found a supporter who is boosting his questionable claims about golf.
Brian Jack, a former Trump adviser who is running to represent a Georgia district in the House of Representatives with Trump’s blessing, shared a questionable anecdote about his former boss on the golf course.
During a Trump rally in Rome, Georgia, on Saturday, Jack hesitated before sharing, “I’m not sure if I should say this, but just a few weeks ago, President Trump outperformed two professional golfers. I won’t mention their names, but it’s worth noting that he shot a remarkable 70 on 18 holes.”
Mediaite hit the nail on the head when they described Jack’s claim about Trump’s golf skills as “possibly the most shameless yet.”
A skeptic on X, formerly known as Twitter, expressed doubts about Jack’s story, comparing it to a North Korean media report about the late Kim Jong Il achieving 11 holes-in-one during his first-ever round of golf (though a more conservative estimate put it at five holes-in-one).
Rick Reilly’s 2019 book, “Commander in Cheat,” sheds light on Trump’s golf antics, as pointed out by another user on X. Even when playing with Tiger Woods, Trump allegedly managed to pull a fast one, as revealed by Reilly.
According to Reilly, President Trump is not simply a cheater when it comes to golf; he cheats with the skill and cunning of a three-card Monte dealer. He employs a variety of tactics to improve his game, such as throwing the ball, booting it, and moving it illegally. He is not above lying about his lies, and he often fudges, foozles, and fluffs his shots. Trump’s cheating has become so notorious that the caddies at Winged Foot, where he is a member, have even given him the nickname “Pele” due to his habit of kicking the ball back onto the fairway.
In an interesting turn of events, Trump went as far as to assert his victory in a golf tournament he never even participated in.
Trump’s passion for golf is undeniable. During his presidency, he played the game a staggering 289 times, often on his own properties. This indulgence came at a cost to taxpayers, who funded travel and security expenses amounting to a whopping $151.5 million, as reported by a HuffPost analysis in 2021.
