According to a report from the New Zealand Herald, a Latam Airlines flight on Monday resulted in injuries to at least 50 passengers.

According to the newspaper, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner encountered a technical issue during its flight from Sydney to Auckland, resulting in a sudden drop in altitude.

Latam Airlines has disclosed that there was a “technical event” during the flight, which resulted in a significant turbulence.

A passenger, who claimed to have previously worked as a flight attendant, told the Herald that this was her first encounter with such an occurrence.

According to her, there was a sudden descent and the entire plane came to a standstill.

According to the outlet, Auckland Airport dispatched seven ambulances and four additional emergency vehicles after the plane had landed.

According to Latam’s statement, 10 individuals were transported to the hospital, but fortunately, no severe injuries were reported.

According to the Herald, the ambulance service reported that they had provided medical attention to a total of 50 individuals, out of which 12 were subsequently transported to the hospital. Additionally, it was noted that one person was in a serious condition.

The airline stated that the onward flight to Santiago, Chile has been canceled, and a replacement flight has been scheduled for Tuesday. They also mentioned that Latam is offering affected passengers food and accommodation services in light of the flight cancellation.
