Missing 13-year-old With Autism Found 200 Miles Away From Home

Mocobizscene – A teenager with autism who went missing from his Arizona home was fortunately located safe and sound approximately 200 miles away, having wandered into a supermarket.

The New Mexico State Police shared a photo of a young boy who was discovered at a Walmart in Deming on Tuesday night.

The photo showed the boy on an emergency stretcher, and he was simply described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and 230 pounds. NMSP later described the teen as “non-verbal” and stated that he lacked any identification.

Within seven minutes, someone responded to the message, stating that the Tucson Police Department was seeking someone who appeared similar to the boy.

In just seven minutes, a response to the post indicated that the Tucson Police Department was in search of an individual bearing a striking resemblance to the boy.

Thirteen-year-old Marcus Tessier, who couldn’t communicate with others, astonishingly traveled 200 miles from home.

According to Marcus’s brother, Mikel Desmond, their mother discovered that Marcus was missing when she woke up. The front door was unlocked, and Marcus was nowhere to be found. Mikel shared this information with local news channel KRQE.

Later on Tuesday evening, when Mikel received a call from New Mexico informing him about his brother’s whereabouts, he felt skeptical.

“I had a conversation with the officer and a nurse at the hospital, and to be honest, it was hard to believe,” he shared. He went on to explain that the family had been receiving numerous scam calls from people who claimed to have information about Marcus.

“Marcus has been safely reunited with his family in Tucson,” NMSP announced in a heartwarming update on Facebook. The organization expressed their gratitude to everyone who played a role in making this joyful reunion possible by sharing, commenting, and spreading the word.
