12 people injured, 1 in critical condition in Brownsville apartment fire

Mocobizscene- According to the FDNY, a fire in a building in Brownsville has resulted in 12 injuries, with one person in critical condition. The incident occurred on the fourth floor of the Langston Hughes Houses on Sutter Avenue at around 10 a.m., according to fire officials. Upon arrival, firefighters quickly ascended the steps to rescue a trapped individual.

After extinguishing the fire, emergency responders transported 11 individuals to nearby hospitals for medical attention. While most of the injuries were minor, one person remains in critical condition.

The Red Cross reports that although multiple families were affected by the fire, at least three of them were able to safely return to their apartments. The fire’s cause and the damage’s extent are still unclear.
