Charges Filed in Case of Person Swallowing Meth

Mocobizscene-  A man from Michigan City, IN, had a near-death experience when he accidentally ingested a plastic bag filled with drugs.

Thomas Langford, a 25-year-old man, was taken into custody last week after authorities discovered drugs and syringes in the vehicle he was traveling in at Michigan City. The K-9 unit played a crucial role in this arrest, as it helped uncover two syringes containing an unidentified liquid during a routine traffic stop near the intersection of U.S. 20 and Franklin Street.

The police reported that they took him to the Michigan City police station. While he was in a holding cell, officers noticed him removing a plastic bag of drugs from his underwear and swallowing it.

Shortly after, another bag was discovered in his underwear, reportedly carrying 11 grams of methamphetamine. Langford has a history of drug-related offenses, according to authorities.

Langford remains in custody at the La Porte County Jail with a bail set at $50,000. He is facing charges, including Dealing in Methamphetamine, which is classified as a Level 2 felony. If convicted, he could potentially face a sentence ranging from 10 to 30 years.
