Mocobizscene- According to California firefighters, a woman experienced a terrifying incident when she fell into a sinkhole that was 25 feet deep just outside her Fontana home.

The circumstances surrounding the woman’s fall into the hole remain unclear. However, her children became aware of her absence and promptly contacted their father, who hurried home from work, as reported by KABC. A concerned individual overheard cries emanating from the bricked-over patio area where the hole was located and immediately dialed 911 at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, according to KTLA.

Firefighters arrived at the scene around 10:15 a.m. and discovered that the woman, who was not visible from the surface, was conscious and able to communicate, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District on X (formerly Twitter). They immediately began preparing for an enclosed space rescue and proceeded to lower a rescuer into the hole, as stated in subsequent posts.
