Mocobizscene- Miami-Dade, FL is a vibrant and thriving city located in the southern part of Florida. Nicolas D. Vega, a 26-year-old resident of west Miami-Dade, openly expressed his strong disapproval of law enforcement by getting a chest tattoo that boldly declares his sentiment towards the police.
On Sunday, authorities arrested him on almost a dozen felony charges, revealing this sentiment. Miami-Dade police have accused Vega of stealing an SUV from a McDonald’s in Miami and also of pilfering nearly a dozen bank and identification cards.
Around 4:30 Sunday afternoon, officers received a report of a “suspicious vehicle” at Vega’s residence in the Westchester area. When the police arrived at the scene, they noticed Vega driving a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer around the block, repeatedly entering and exiting it.
Officers made a startling discovery when they checked the license plate of the vehicle – it had been reported stolen earlier that day from a McDonald’s just a mile away in Miami’s Flagami neighborhood. After Vega parked his car in the driveway, he tried to get into another SUV, a Chevrolet Tahoe, which already had two other people inside.
Law enforcement swiftly took action, apprehending all three individuals involved. According to witnesses, who were described as friends of Vega, they happened to be driving by when they saw him outside and decided to stop and greet him. They saw Vega driving the stolen Trailblazer but didn’t know who it belonged to.
During the arrest, the police discovered Vega’s wallet inside a cross-body bag. The bag contained 10 bank and identification cards, which belonged to two victims. These victims included the person who reported the stolen vehicle and the actual owner of the vehicle.
While being taken to jail for charges related to grand theft auto and possession of stolen identification cards, Vega shouted out to a detective from the car window, informing them about his skateboard and bags that were still in the vehicle.
Vega, who is currently held in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, is facing a bond of over $30,000 on multiple charges. These charges include possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. As of Monday afternoon, Vega has not been released.
