Police arrest armed robbery suspects following high-speed chase on I-78 from Essex to Hunterdon counties

Mocobizscene-  The police have apprehended six individuals suspected of armed robbery after a high-speed pursuit on I-78 spanning from Essex to Hunterdon County in New Jersey. State police officials confirmed this development.

At approximately 9:05 a.m. on Saturday, February 3rd, the Newark Police Department was actively pursuing a vehicle heading westbound on Interstate 78, according to state police.

The vehicle eventually halted in the vicinity of I-78 east at milepost 25.4 in Tewksbury Township, prompting six suspects to flee on foot from the scene, according to state police.

State police stated that they were able to apprehend all the suspects and recover a firearm with the help of their K-9 and Aviation units after conducting a short search. The state police have not disclosed any details about the robbery, nor have they revealed the identities of the six suspects involved.

Troopers from Troop “B” Somerville Station, Perryville Station, Newark Police Department, Tewksbury Township Police Department, and the Readington Township Police Department joined forces to apprehend the suspects, according to state police.
