12-Year-Old Manhattan Girl, Sharaun Cole, Vanishes While Playing in a Park in 1983

Mocobizscene-This case came to my attention through Crime Noir Podcast, which is an excellent source of information on missing and murdered individuals in the Black community. While there isn’t much known about Sharaun Cole, The Doe Network reports that this 12-year-old went missing from Manhattan, New York in 1983.

On February 25, 1983, Sharaun ventured outside her family home on Edgecomb Avenue to play. According to her mother, the young girl was last seen at a nearby park but never returned. Since then, there has been no contact or sightings of her. Sharaun’s mother emphasized that there were no underlying issues at home that would have motivated the child to run away. Unfortunately, there is limited information available regarding this case, which dates back several decades.

Sharaun Cole: What To Know

Sharaun Cole, who went missing, was described as a woman measuring between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 7 inches in height, and weighing around 110 to 115 pounds. She had dark brown/black hair and brown eyes. Sharaun was last seen wearing a beige wool jacket, blue jeans, and blue and white sneakers. According to TCP, she was also reported to be wearing a gold jacket, although this detail is not mentioned in The Doe Network. Sharaun’s birthdate is October 8, 1970, but she was known to use the same date with the year 1969. At the time of this publication, she would be 49 years old.
