43-year-old man arrested in connection with suspicious apartment fire in Bensonhurst

Mocobizscene-  A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged by the police in connection with the fire that occurred on Monday at a multifamily home in Bensonhurst.

Illya Kobzaryuk was taken into custody and charged with arson on Tuesday after allegedly intentionally setting fire to his apartment building.

Authorities have reported that a fire erupted on Monday evening in a three-floor multifamily home, specifically on the second floor. The fire originated in an apartment that was severely cluttered. Investigators are currently looking into the possibility of the fire being intentionally set.

A single individual sustained a minor injury but is expected to recover without any major complications.

According to News 12, neighbors have reported that Kobzaryuk resided in the building and has been responsible for various issues over the years. These problems include breaking windows and making threats.
