Mocobizscene- The Southern California desert experienced an unexpected bout of heavy snow on Thursday, turning the usually dry landscape into a winter wonderland. The 15 Freeway, which connects Nevada and Los Angeles, was covered in a thick blanket of snow, creating a picturesque scene reminiscent of mountain communities rather than a desert region.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, @realuncleslammy shared his experience of getting caught in a snowstorm, expressing gratitude that the highway in Cali remained open despite the closure of several roads elsewhere.
The video captures a scene in Mountain Pass, located just across the Nevada state line in San Bernardino County. This area is situated several miles south of the agricultural checkpoint and has an elevation of 4,730 feet.
According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm system has dumped 5-8 inches of snow.
