Inmate In Georgia Receives 30-Year Sentence For Facilitating Drug Transactions While Incarcerated

Mocobizscene-A member of the Sureños criminal gang, who is currently serving time in a Georgia prison, has been sentenced to over 30 years in prison for facilitating the distribution of drugs while incarcerated, as per the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Middle District of Georgia.

Pedro Barragan Valencia, also known as “Casper,” “Bossman,” and “Mexican Hitman Pete,” has been sentenced to 400 months in prison. Additionally, upon his release, he will be placed under five years of supervision. Valencia pleaded guilty on June 7 to conspiracy charges related to the possession and distribution of controlled substances, including heroin, methamphetamine, and fentanyl.

Valencia, while serving time at Calhoun State Prison, orchestrated the acquisition of substantial quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl, and various illicit drugs. These drugs were intended for distribution in Thomaston, Columbus, and other cities across Georgia.

A total of 20 co-defendants involved in connected cases have already received their sentences, while one more individual is currently awaiting their sentencing.

According to U.S. Attorney Peter D. Leary, Pedro Valencia took charge of distributing a minimum of 250 kilograms of methamphetamine to an armed drug trafficking organization in Georgia, all while being behind bars. The collaborative efforts of federal, state, and local law enforcement led to the dismantling of this dangerous drug trafficking organization, which aimed to spread these highly addictive and lethal drugs in our communities.
