Mocobizscene-After admitting to assaulting a young child, a former paramedic for the White River Township Fire Protection District was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
On Tuesday, Anthony Henson, an Indianapolis resident, entered a guilty plea to three charges of child molestation, with one count requiring him to admit to mental illness. On the same day, Henson received sentences totaling nine, nine, and seven years in jail. The sentences were to be served consecutively, meaning that they would be served one after the other for a total of twenty-five years in jail.
According to earlier accounts, Henson told authorities that the 9-year-old girl “did the right thing” when she informed a teacher about his “routine” of inappropriately touching the child.
Prior to his termination after the district found out about his incarceration, Henson worked as a paramedic for the White River Township Fire Protection District.
After the girl reported Henson to a teacher about him touching her both over and under her clothes, Henson was taken into custody in November 2022.
Police first told Henson that he wouldn’t speak with detectives until he changed his mind and indicated he wanted to sign a confession. Henson said that the girl was “completely harmless in this” and that she “did the right thing” by bringing him in.
Henson will be put on probation and have to register as a sexual offender after completing his prison term.
