A Gambino Mafia member has been released after serving only 35 years of his life sentence

Ex-Mafia hitman and Gambino crime family associate, Anthony Senter, is set to be released from prison in 2024 after serving a mere 35 years of his life sentence for the murder of at least 11 people. The Department of Justice spokesperson has stated that Senter has demonstrated significant adherence to the institution’s rules and that his release would not pose a threat to public safety. During the 1970s and 1980s, Senter was a member of Roy DeMeo’s mob, operating in Brooklyn and orchestrating a staggering number of deaths and disappearances. According to federal and city authorities, this tally reached at least 75, while independent researchers suggest it could be over 200. The families of the victims are distraught over this recent decision. One victim, Jerome Hofaker, was a mere 23 years old when Senter took his life. Expressing their discontent, Hofaker’s cousin remarked, “He is 68. That’s not a life. He still has an abundance of years ahead, and it’s simply unjust.”
