UNLV Campus Shooting: Former Professor Who Applied For UNLV Job Identified As Gunman

A shooting incident transpired at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where one individual was critically injured and three others lost their lives. Additionally discovered deceased was the shooter, a professor who had recently applied for employment at UNLV.

Prior to this incident, the gunman was an employee of East Carolina University in North Carolina. Las Vegas has not experienced a worse shooting since the Mandalay Bay casino massacre in 2017.

Associate professor identified as 3rd victim in deadly UNLV shooting

Following a gunfight with two university police detectives outside the Lee Business School building at UNLV, the assailant was slain. The shooting incident occurred within the building. Approximately forty minutes after the initial report of an active gunman, the situation was declared out. The motive, victims, and assailant have not been identified at this time. Up to twenty shots were discharged, according to witnesses.

As a result of the shootings, classes at the university were suspended through Friday, and UNLV’s basketball game at the University of Dayton, Ohio was also cancelled.
