After assault, a man dies at the age of 64, says Pennsylvania coroner, after four decades

On June 13th, it was reported that the death of a 64-year-old man in Pennsylvania has been ruled a homicide by the coroner’s office. Shockingly, the cause of death was determined to be injuries that the man sustained almost 40 years ago.

On June 5, at the Inners Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dallastown, PA, Craig Tschudy passed away and was pronounced dead at 11:25 a.m. The facility is situated approximately 100 miles west of Philadelphia.

In a press release on Wednesday, the York County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the cause of death was homicide and the reason behind it was diffuse traumatic brain injury.

Back in the day, Tschudy, who was only 26 years old at the time, fell victim to a case of mistaken identity that led to him being assaulted by unknown attackers wielding a baseball bat while he was in New York City.

Tschudy suffered from permanent traumatic brain injury as a result of the assault, but no suspect was ever identified, and as such, no charges were filed.

On Wednesday, the coroner’s office stated that no charges would be filed as the assailants could not be identified.

According to the report, the injuries sustained by Tschudy were considered the cause of his death 38 years later, leading to the ruling of a homicide in the manner of death. The coroner cases have no statute of limitations, which means that justice can still be sought even after many years have passed.

According to an online obituary published by the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, PeeWee Tschudy was known for his love of weightlifting and cruising around town in his wheelchair.

According to the statement, PeeWee was a York native who was known for his friendly demeanor. He was a regular visitor at the York City Police Department, where he spent countless days.

According to the statement, he felt a great sense of pride for having shot a deer during his youth.
